I guess this is super-neato but also sad. I don’t feel comfortable talking about the “sad” part yet.

So… what’s next? I need to get in shape and learn how to dress well before college. Also math. Lots and lots of remedial math. So. much. math. (Just realized I’m writing about math in my first post. I’m such a stereotype)

I tried to coast through the last three years of high school, alternating between procrastination and cramming. I feel unfulfilled, and I regret not putting forth any real effort during a defining period in my life. So now I sit, a seventeen year old with all the symptoms of a mid-life crisis. That being said, self-pity and regret are pointless and fairly boring.

I’ll just try to be better. I’m pretty sure the level of change I make in my life throughout freshman year will be a indicator of how well I’ll do in all of academia and beyond. If I can’t take the initiative to turn my bad habits and laziness around in one of the most pivotal points of my life, why would I be able to later when there’s less to be gained?

Oh wow, I just realized that this post will be incredibly embarrassing if I end up falling short of my goals. Oh well, nobody will read this anyways, and if I do fall short, my tumblr hypocrisy will be the least of my worries.

I also need to learn how to write better. Also math.
